Advanced Robotics Department,
Italian Institute of Technology.
AREAS OF EXPERTISE
- Artificial intelligence
- Physical human-robot interaction
- Machine learning
- Safety in Robotics
- Robot learning from demonstration
- Control Engineering
Human Robot Cooperation in real scenarios requires physical interaction during which any involved entity should exhibit meaningful force/motion patterns and exchange of other information such as intended future actions.
Research on robot Learning from Demonstration provides tools to encode and reproduce human behavior shown during demonstrations of cooperation skills.
EDUCATION
2010-onward
PhD in Learning by Demonstration Techniques for Human-Robot Collaboration at the Advanced Robotics Department of the Italian Institute of Technology. Supervisor:
Sylvain Calinon.
2006-2009
MSc in Automation Engineering at the Polytechnical University of Milan, Italy. Thesis: "Human Intention prediction based on Hidden Markov Models in human-robot interacion scenarios",
Department of Electronics and Information Systems, Supervisor: Prof. Paolo Rocco.
2003-2006
BSc in Automation Engineering at the Polytechnical University of Milan, Italy. Thesis: "Modelling and non linear control based on Feedback Linearization of an air manifold for benzine internal combustion engines", Department of Electronics and Information Systems, Supervisor: Prof. Riccardo Scattolini.
